The Roche HealthBuilders programme was developed in 2018 alongside the launch of a competition for start-ups that led to a variety of collaborations.
The programme grew and, over time, it developed into a pathway for innovation. Challenges are set regularly that start-ups from all over the world can respond to with innovative solutions. Open innovation therefore acts as a tool that people in any company role can get involved in to search for new solutions, create valuable collaborations and position Roche as a healthcare partner for health systems. The programme also offers an opportunity to constantly learn and establish win-win collaborations. It combines the agile and dynamic approach that is typical of start-ups with the industry expertise and widespread network of the Roche teams. We think it is crucial to collaborate with all players who have a role in open innovation. Roche’s door is always open to incubators, accelerators, universities and investment funds.
